As the pop-up definition goes, these are short and small advertisements that attract your attention to a product they promote. Theronadforyou24 pop-up advertisements, on the other hand, are related to untrustworthy sites. You will generally see the proposition to enable them after a redirection from another website. There’s nothing bad in redirecting unless it throws you to such a dubious place. In this case, turning on push notifications is offered as the anti-DDoS check-up. In other cases, the web pages can deny showing you the content unless you enable these pop-ups. These theses should be the red flag, as websites commonly feature a less obscure anti-bot mechanism. Seeing such an requirement is a reason to close the website right away. In some cases, even after clicking “Allow”, you will not get to the website – the sole page it has is a landing page with the offer to turn on the pop-ups.

How does it work?

The majority of web browsers support enabling pop-ups from websites. Websites, on the other hand, may send notifications with the content they want. It may be a promotion of the page posted on this particular website, or a promotion of the page of their partner. As a result, you can see the pop-up from site X, but clicking it will direct you to website Y – because a referral link to that website was added.

Scoundrels bear on this ability in their approach to gain money using illegal advertising. They trick victims into allowing them to show the banners, and then just spread hundreds of banners of anyone they have a deal with. As you may suppose, no normal companies will contract with fraudsters. All the Theronadforyou24 notifications you may see lead to other untrustworthy sites. At some point, the same victim can be trapped by multiple pop-up spamming web pages, and its browser will turn into a complete mess.

The promotions these rascals show are paid under the pay-per-view model. It usually provides a negligible commission for one person, but when you can send ads to hundreds of victims and make it hundreds of times each day – that is a way bigger sum. Even though the majority of these ads giving no result at all, it can still give all the parties a lot of profit.

Are Theronadforyou24 pop-up advertisements dangerous?

Yes, they are. At the surface, they can look non-threatening – just a blinking window that appears from time to time. However, the contents of this window differ sharply from what you used to see in pop-ups. Theronadforyou24.com website is controlled by fraudsters, who deliberately throw tons of malicious ads in pop-ups. They also don’t follow any manners of advertising and can make sporadic pop-up advertisements into a storm of ads. For weak computers, that may be enough to cause performance issues. But troubles are not over at this point.

Why people dislike popups

As with any other thing that touches illegal advertising, Theronadforyou24 pop-up notifications don’t have legit offers. Even though crooks make the ads similar to ones from well-known retailers, the web page these ads will throw you to are completely different. And these pages may offer you to turn on other pop-ups, install a “useful” program, or pay for a thing at a big discount and never receive it. Let’s leave aside the cases when push notifications promote phishing pages or straightforward malware. There’s no way these pages will bring you any good, thus interacting with them is a very bad idea. For the same reason, Theronadforyou24 pop-up advertisements are not recommended to click on either, and the best solution is to disable them as soon as possible.

How to remove Theronadforyou24 pop-ups?

Fortunately, Theronadforyou24 pop-up notifications removal is not very complicated. They sit in the web browser and can’t hide themselves among system files. Nevertheless, as I stated before, some pop-up ads can deliver malicious programs to your computer. It is nearly impossible to predict all cases, and manual attempts to remove malware is a poor idea. Thus, after getting rid of the push notifications it is recommended to use anti-malware software. I would especially recommend that if you have never allowed pop-up advertisements, and they still appeared. That may point at malware activity. GridinSoft Anti-Malware will perfectly fit both recovery and malware scanning and removal purposes, because of its system recovery functionality and multi-component detection system.

When the browsers are reset, you need to ensure that your browser will connect the right DNS while connecting to the website you need. Create a text file titled “hosts” on your pc’s desktop, then open it and fill it with the following lines2:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

Find the hosts.txt file in C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc directory. Rename this file to “hosts.old.txt” (to distinguish it from the new one), and then move the file you created on the desktop to this folder. Remove the hosts.old from this folder. Now you have your hosts file as good as new.
