News-sixuz pop-up notifications appear when you do not expect, disturbing and annoying you. Nonetheless, they are way more than annoying pop-ups – their essence is surely malicious, and they can introduce other malware to your computer. In this article, I will show you how to remove News-sixuz pop-up notifications and explain how to avoid them in the future.
Any time you interact with News-sixuz pop-up notifications will be useless at best. At worst, the pages it can show you may introduce malware to your system. These pop-ups can also promote fake shopping websites which will take your money and payment info. The latter generally ends up with losing all the money you have on the exposed card.
What are News-sixuz pop-up notifications?
As the pop-up definition goes, these are short and small advertisements that attract your attention to a product they promote. But the difference between regular pop-ups and News-sixuz notifications is the malignant origins of the latter. Common pop-ups are offered for you to enable with a understandable purpose – notify you about the new articles, goods for sale and so on. It is a useful thing to help your site to keep visitor’s attention and help the interested ones to have the best price.

News-sixuz pop-up advertisements, on the other hand, are related to less legit websites. You will generally observe the offer to turn them on following the redirection from another site. There’s nothing bad in redirecting unless they throw you to such a questionable place. At that point, enabling pop-up notifications is offered under the guise of the anti-bot filtering. In other cases, the websites can deny showing you the contents unless you enable these pop-up advertisements. These demands should already raise suspicion, as sites usually feature a less obscure anti-bot mechanism. Witnessing this demand should be the reason to skip the website doubtlessly. Sometimes, even after clicking “Allow”, you will not get to the site – it has only a landing page with the offer to turn on the push notifications.
How does this work?
The vast majority of browsers support enabling push notifications from websites. Sites, on the other hand, may send out notifications with the content of their choice. It can be an advertisement of the product or a page posted on this particular site, or an ad of the page of their partner. As a result, you can see the push notification from site X, but interacting with it will direct you to site Y – because a referral link to the latter was added.
Cybercriminals bear on this ability in their attempt to earn money using illegal advertising. They trick users into turning on pop-ups, and then just spread numerous ads of other crooks they have a deal with. As you may suppose, no legit companies will have a deal with fraudsters. All the News-sixuz push ads you can see lead to other fraudulent sites. At some point, the same victim can be trapped by several pop-up spamming web pages, and its web browser will turn into a complete mess.
The banners these criminals show are paid under the pay-per-view model. It generally provides a negligible pay for one person, but when you can send ads to a huge number of users and show them hundreds of ads each day – that is a much more significant sum. Even though the majority of these banners giving no result at all, it may still give all the participants a lot of money.
Are News-sixuz push notifications dangerous?
Yes, they are. Initially, they can look non-threatening – just a blinking window that appears a couple times in an hour. However, the things this window promotes differ sharply from what you generally see in pop-up notifications. News-sixuzo.com web page is ruled by crooks, who deliberately throw tons of irrelevant ads in pop-ups. They also never follow any manners of advertising and can launch sporadic pop-ups into a storm of promotions. For weak computers, that may be enough to make the system slower. But that is not all troubles these pop-up ads carry.
As with any other thing related to illegal ads, News-sixuz pop-up notifications lack legit deals to offer. Even when hackers make the ads looking similar to ones from well-known retailers, the website these banners will throw you to are completely different. And these pages may offer you to turn on other pop-ups, install a “useful” program, or pay for a thing at a big discount and never receive it. Let’s leave aside the cases when pop-ups promote phishing pages or straightforward malware. There’s no way these pages will bring you any good, thus interacting with them is a very bad idea. For the same reason, News-sixuz pop-up advertisements are not recommended to click on either, and the best solution is to disable them as soon as possible.
How to remove News-sixuz pop-ups?
Fortunately, News-sixuz push notifications removal is pretty easy. They reside in the web browser and cannot conceal themselves among system files. Nonetheless, as I pointed out above, some pop-up ads can promote malicious software to your system. It is hard to show all of the cases, and manual malware removal is a poor idea. For that reason, after removing the source of the pop-up notifications it is recommended to use anti-malware software. I would especially recommend that if you have never clicked “Allow” to pop-ups, but they still appeared. That can be a sign of adware activity. GridinSoft Anti-Malware will perfectly fit both recovery and malware removal purposes, because of its abilities of system recovery and advanced detection system.
First of all, you should reset your browser settings. You can do that in manual or automated way. When the browsers are reset, you need to ensure that your browser will connect the right DNS while connecting to the website you need. Create a text file titled “hosts” on your pc’s desktop, then open it and fill it with the following lines2:
# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
Find the hosts.txt file in C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc directory. Rename this file to “hosts.old.txt” (to distinguish it from the new one), and then move the file you created on the desktop to this folder. Remove the hosts.old from this folder. Now you have your hosts file as good as new.
