The Wanqu virus falls under the Thanos ransomware family. Wanqu virus: what is known so far?

Wanqu appends its own .Wanqu extension to the name of every encrypted file. For example, an image entitled “photo.jpg” will be turned into “photo.jpg.Wanqu”. Just like the Excel sheet named “table.xlsx” will be changed to “table.xlsx.Wanqu”, and so on.
In every folder containing the encoded files, a RESTORE_FILES_INFO.txt file will appear. It is a ransom money note. How did my machine catch Wanqu ransomware?
