Lebonstream.xyz Online Cinema – Is Lebonstream Safe?

Lebonstream.xyz is a fraudulent online movie theater that in fact does not have any real content. Attempting to click upon any content, you will be redirected to a malicious site that will offer you to enable pop-ups.

Despite the attempts to look legitimately, Lebonstream site does not have any content. Trying to open any movie you see on it will initiate a redirection. Then you will see an online casino, a phishing copy of a Netflix page, another fraudulent online cinema, or an adult site. There could be variations, though all of them clearly say that this site is not safe to use.

Is Lebonstream safe?

As I’ve just said, Lebonstream is just a parody on a online cinema. Using search poisoning, they push their pages higher in search results, attracting visitors. Unsuspecting people who open lebonstream.xyz will expect to watch movies, pirated by site admins. But instead, each click on the movie title will throw them to another website. The very fact of the redirects usage makes me consider this page dangerous.

Is Lebonstream dangerous?

Ads shown by the sites where Lebonstream.xyz redirects you are not safe, to say the least. At best, those will be entirely irrelevant ads, that will still be irritating taking into account their frequency. Nevertheless, more common instances include advertisements of enigmatic deals with 90% off, adult web pages ads or deception attempts. Here are some of the standard patterns for pop-up spam:

  • Discover 5, 10, 20, or even 50 women near you who are eager to chat.
  • Sign in on this new crypto exchange website and receive a substantial crypto bonus.
  • Your system is infected with 15 viruses. Contact our tech support or perform an immediate scan.
  • You’ve received a new message on Facebook, Twitter, or WhatsApp. Beware of phishing links.
  • Visit this new, totally legitimate shopping site and claim your discount coupon.
  • up your computer with an incredibly effective system cleaner.

Due to the unlawful advertising model of Lebonstream.xyz, no lawful companies will really use their promotional offerings. Meanwhile, the whole array of topics I’ve delineated above is managed by the same scammy actors as those who are responsible for Lebonstream. Occasionally, upon interaction with the push ad, you might be thrown to another page that offers activating pop-up advertisements. The activity of several sources of pop-ups can transform your browser into an pathway of a pop-up surge.

Are pop-up ads dangerous?

Yes, they are. At the surface, they can look safe – just a colourful window that appears a couple times in an hour. However, the contents of this window differ drastically from what you generally see in push notifications. Lebonstream.xyz website is controlled by crooks, who intentionally expose users to a danger of seeing hundreds and thousands of malicious ads in pop-ups. They also never follow any manners of advertising and can launch sporadic pop-ups into a storm of ads. For weak computers, that may be enough to cause performance issues. But troubles are not over at this point.

Why people dislike popups

As any other thing related to illegal advertising, these pop-up notifications don’t have legit deals to offer. Even though hackers make the banners looking similar to ones from Walmart or Amazon, the website these banners will throw you to are completely different. And these pages may offer you to turn on other pop-ups, install a “useful” program, or pay for a thing at a big discount and never receive it. Let’s leave aside the cases when pop-up notifications promote phishing pages or straightforward malware. There’s no way these pages will bring you any good, thus interacting with them is a very bad idea. For the same reason, Lebonstream pop-up advertisements are not recommended to click on either, and the best solution is to disable them as soon as possible.

When the browsers are reset, you need to ensure that your browser will connect the right DNS while connecting to the site you need. Create a text file titled “hosts” on your pc’s desktop, then open it and fill it with the following lines1:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

Find the hosts.txt file in C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc directory. Rename this file to “hosts.old.txt” (to distinguish it from the new one), and then move the file you created on the desktop to this folder. Remove the hosts.old from this folder. Now you have your hosts file as good as new.

Scan your system for possible viruses

Once the scan is complete, you will see the detections or a notification about a clean system. Proceed with pressing the Clean Up button (or OK when nothing is detected).
