Adware is a sort of malware that presents you the pay-per-view of pay-per-click ads, which creates a major volume of earnings for adware representatives. Pop-up advertising itself is a good, low-priced and extremely efficient marketing tool1. It permits the vendor to link the customers’ interest to their site, as well as the buyers to get the dynamic updates on the goods they intend to buy. When the customer will receive a pop-up notification that the TV set he likes to purchase is offered at the online shop he/she saw previously with a 15% discount, one will certainly use this possibility and get it. Taking into consideration the very low cost for the popups and their targeting, such a marketing instrument is a much-loved thing among the advertising teams of big online stores.

However, such a successful plan could not be missed by malware developers. Ability to show the popup advertisements by force to the people of malware attack is a great basis for evil-minded tricks with the popup advertisements. There are a number of ways of getting infected by the adware that create the Alienham popups tornado. A lion’s part of this malware incidents is after the freeware or cracked programs, that are spread on the peering networks. Freeware may additionally be downloaded from the official web page, and the adware is delivered as a legitimate bundled program.

There is no need to blame yourself. A number of people frequently utilize the dubious programs from untrusted sources: abandonware, different tools that are free of cost, or perhaps hacked programs. Every one of these sorts of software are unsafe, because it is extremely easy to include a Alienham malware under the guise of part of the license hacking script, or as a component of the self-made algoritm inside of the Windows optimization tool.

Alienham popup malware can likewise be concealed in the ad somewhere on the unusual site. Such sites are usually packed with colorful and blinking ads, and their proprietors typically permit any kind of promos to be published on their web page. Hence, clicking on such banners is a risky thing: only the advertisement provider knows what will happen when you press this ad. Besides some “light” viruses, like adware or unwanted programs, you may additionally get something much more threatening, like ransomware or coin miner; the substantial share of coin miners distribution is exactly after the malicious advertisements.

People dislike popups

The statistic shows that people dislike popup advertising more than other types of promotions

Potentially unwanted applications, like Alienham popup virus can initiate a variety of different problems on your computer. Distracting is not the only problem – pop-ups may show you the promotions, where you are offered to get another strange application, or “a amazing anti-malware tool”. Scareware is often spread with the last motto. Potentially unwanted applications, in turn, can have spyware functions. And it is quite hard to distinguish the undesirable app from a good one, if you don’t know the exact names. Besides the PUPs and pseudo antiviruses, popup-related ads are also used as a spreading way by different trojan viruses, for example – coin miners. The consequences of activity of such malware is 100% unpleasant, and can cost you hundreds of dollars. And even if you are not interacting with these banners, they may be clicked by whoever who also uses your PC – parents, children, spouse, etc. So the things can become much more serious, and it will be much harder to deal with it without data and money loss. It is recommended to get rid of the viruses with antivirus applications as soon as possible.

The manual of Alienham adware elimination contains 2 parts. First, we need to get rid of the malware, and after that repair the effects of its action. The removal process is quite easy, since it can be executed even with using Microsoft Defender – anti-malware program that is available on all computers with Windows 8/10. When the web browsers are reset, you need to make sure that your browser will definitely connect the accurate DNS while connecting to the website you want. Make a text file named “hosts” on your desktop, then open it and fill it with the following text3:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
